Full-Text Search

By default Alfa provides simple Quick Search by title, author, ISBN, publisher, series and custom fields and Advanced Search by Description and TOC. But you can also setup search by book texts. Near the Search field your can find an icon Advanced Search, open it and switch to Full Text.

To enable full-text search you first need to add books to Index. Indexing books takes time and is not turned on by default, but you have 4 options depending on your needs:

1. File Parser
In your library select the books you want to add to Index (you can filter your library by any parameter and select only needed books). Click on the File Parser icon in the toolbar. Click on the Settings icon and make sure that the box "Index Files" is checked. Then click Scan.

2. Advanced Search
In the Advanced Search window open Full Text Search, click "Not Indexed Book Files". Here you can add books manually by clicking "+" or click IDX button to add ALL books to Index (this may take a long time if you have thousands of books).

3. Scan
This option allows you to add NEW books to Index. In the Scan Settings check the box "Index Files". Indexing books takes time, so may be you don't need to add every new book to the Index.

4. Book Card
In the Book Card -> Files tab you can click Index icon next to each file to add it to the Index.

Note, that Full Text search only finds complete word matches, so it won't find "Alice" by query "alic".
