Alfa was featured for the first time in the popular German magazine CHIP, receiving a highly complimentary review. CHIP notes that Alfa is an impressive e-book manager - the program also catalogs PDFs, digital comics, print publications and even audiobooks. The review highlights the automatic online search for missing descriptions and cover art. Performance is called a particular strength: a folder containing 1,518 EPUB files was imported in just 80 seconds. The Web Server, which allows users to share their library across a home network, is also specifically mentioned. Alfa has received a rating of "Sehr gut" (1.3) - in the German grading system, the closer the score is to 1, the better.
