Authors

To make entering data in the Book Card easier Alfa Ebooks Manager provides lookups for the following book parameters:

- Authors
- Genres
- Publishers
- Series
- Tags

When adding or updating Book Card you can select values from the lookups rather than enter them manually.

You can also access lookups in the Lookups menu. In the Lookup windows you can Add, Edit and Delete the lookup values (i.e. authors, genres, etc). The lookup form includes Title, Description and Picture that you can create from any image-file or pick up from Google Images:

Besides the Lookup window allows you to search needed values and view statistics in the status bar.

The Genres lookup also allows to create sub-genres, so that you could better organize your e-Library.

How to quickly remove authors, genres, tags that aren't used?

In each lookup window (like Authors, Genres, Tags, Publishers) and in the Library Explorer lists there is an icon "Remove Unused". Just click on it.

Is it possible to merge authors?

Yes, open Authors section in the Library Explorer and drag one author on another

Split Author Name

Split the Author name on space(s). This is how I envision it. Copy / Paste Authors name to the Last Name, click the split button and it will split on the 1st space, click again it will split on 2nd space etc till the end and repeat. This would eliminate many keystrokes on the new author.

Multiple roles for an author

A person can be added to 'author' list and given a role of something beside author. But only one role. What if a person has multiple roles such as Author and Narrator? - which several audiobooks do. I would suggest allowing multiple roles be selected for each person entry OR multiple person entries with different roles assigned (this would likely be less desirable by most people).

Bigger description field in the Author card

I have rather long texts about authors. But the window where I can read the text about the author is very very small.... Please make the info about authors more readable.
