
You may need to import data from Alfa Ebooks Manager database in the following cases:
Import data from the older versions of Alfa Ebooks Manager
Alfa Ebooks Manager v1.9 and older use .MDB database format, while the current version uses .SDF. So if you upgrade to the latest AEM version:
1. Make sure that your .MDB database file is saved outside of the Alfa Ebooks Manager installation folder.
2. Install the new version and launch it
3. Delete all books from the sample database or create a new database
4. Open File -> Import from -> Alfa Ebooks Manager database
5. Select your old .MDB database file and 6. Press the Load button and the list of your books will be loaded to the window7. Select the books that you want to import using the mouse, Ctrl or Shif (Ctrl+A will select all books)8. Press the Save button to import the selected books
Split your database into several parts
If you have a large number of books, you may consider to split your database into several parts. Alfa Ebooks Manager allows to easy move books between databases.
To split database into 2 parts:
1. Create new database (File -> Create New Database)
2. Open File -> Import From ... -> Alfa Ebooks Manager Database
3. Select your primary database file
4. In the tool options you can filter books by Genre, Publisher or Series
5. Press the Load button. This will load the book list to the window
6. Select the books you want to import (Note, that the software finds and highlights duplicates by ISBN-13 and you can remove them from the list)
7. Press the Save button to import the books to the new database
8. Delete the imported books from the primary database
Move books between databases
If you have several databases, you can move books between them using this tool.
