You can select multiple books on any Books View (except Wall View) by checking boxes near the books. You may check/uncheck all books using Ctrl-A or appropriate tools in Books menu. You can also select multiple books using Shift button.
Note, that the selection is kept when you switch between different views or filters. You can always view the number of selected books in the Status bar.
