Hi, i think the new version is a great improvement.
The thing is, I can't seem to find where the option for "Retrieve information from internet when saving to DB" when scanning for books. This is a major feature of the program and I hope that it has not been removed.

Yes we have removed this tool for a while, because our partner accounts on Amazon and other sites where often banned because of the constant requests. But we are working on the new mass update tool that will probably appear in 1.8.1.
Besides, as an owner of the previous version you can use it (to update books from the Web) on the same DB with the new one, because the database structure was not changed.

It's nice to hear that the database is transferable and that the new mass download will be implemented in the new version.
For me, the only feature that is left to be implemented is multiple genres per book, or something like multiple categories per book.
So, far I am really impressed by the new version and it is working great (and no bugs so far)!

Yes, multiple genres per book - is one of the most requested feature now, but it requires changes to the database format. We decided not to implement it at this release, but it will appear in one of the next updates for sure
One week ago, after I saw that you had 1.8 up for sale, I submitted my request for an update to my purchased version, but have yet to receive a reply. When I can expect one? Thanks.
My apologies if 1.8 is not yet ready - I presume since there's a trial available (not a beta) that the full version was ready as well.
