Downloading big cover pictures from the web

Thank you for a very good program.
There are some issues I would like to see fixed. For instance the cover thumbs in the panel are very blurry. I would also like the program to automatically download the clear and big cover picture automatically among the rest of the book information. At least put it as an option. Do this and I will donate immediately and generously!

Ok, Chris, we'll add this feature in the next version in May

Thanks, I'm looking forward for it

can I save the database and the cover files in another external hard-drive?
because I would like to save the information in a different hard-drive from C:\, then even the system crushes, I still have the information.
Thanks!

Yes, sure, you can save the database, book files and cover files in any external hard-drive

Hello, I have the same problem as the user above. The thumbs in the panel are not clear, although the program downloads the large(and clear) image from amazon.
See the image in the following link:

These thumbs are on the maximum size(on the sliding toolbar) and and they are exactly as they appear on the panel on my 24" monitor. Perhaps you could allow it to be even bigger than the current maximum and of course clearer!

Thanks!

Hello,
Because thumbs are currently stored in the database (not as separate files), we make them not so large. This helps the software to operate fast.
The large covers are available in book cards or in the Wall View (when you click on the thumb)

In one of our future releases we plan to store the thumbnails as the separate images, so that they where larger, but this requires to change the database structure, that's why we can't implement it quickly

I agree that the thumbs in the panel are not clear.

My suggestion is simply just give the option to select whether to use thumb or to use the downloaded image. If user select thumb option, then panel just simply use the thumb in the database (which is currently how it works). If user select image option, then panel just simply point to the downloaded image (so that image display is bigger).

In that way no database structure needs to be change, and user has choices between bigger image (but slower operation) or smaller image (but faster operation)

Just my thought. ;)

ANiceGuys,
Thanks for your suggestion.
I think, we'll do some tests with on-the-fly cover resizing and try to implement your idea
