So the problem is that my ebooks are all on a server network share, which the computer that alfa Ebooks is installed on has writing rights on this ebook share.. When I scan for a ebook, it picks it up and I can update it, and download covers for it, and everything is saved to the network drive, But I can't open the ebook. If I right click on the ebook, the OPEN/COPY Book file is grayed out?
Can Alfa not be able to work with network share????

Hi utitor,
Please open the Book Properties -> File tab and look if the file is attached to the book
There is no book attached, if the book is local to the computer it works, but if the book is on the network, I can try and select it but nothing gets put into the FULL PATH line, like it can't read off the network.. Same goes for the covers, it will download the covers, and put them on the network, but wont display them in the program, like it can't reach the network or something?? Any ideas?
Hi, the software should work over the local network. Probably the reason in your network security settings that don't let it to access files on other computer
My computer does have full rights to the ebook folder on the network, I can add a ebook to alfa, then download covers and it will save them to the network server, but it won't display the images in the software, or open the book. This is a not a security issue, as I can use calibre and works fine with that software!
Alright so I found a solution, not an ideal one but it will work for the time being... I had to map the network drive to where my ebooks are stored, so that your software can have a absolute path, such a y:\ this works like a charm, it will not work with \\SERVER\Share
